Today, about 67 per cent of Post Danmark's annual revenue of approx. DKK 11.7 billion is gener-ated by business areas which are in open and free competition with other undertakings.

Post Danmark competes with Danish and foreign postal service providers on management, econ-omy as well as product mix. The company's focus is on the needs of its customers. Post Danmark's mission is to provide basic postal services to all customers in Denmark - senders and recipients alike. Post Danmark's aim is to be the best postal service provider in Europe, measured in terms of service level, quality and price combined.

We are fast and provide high quality

Every day, Post Danmark's employees collect and sort a total of approx. 11 million items of mail for delivery among 5.2 million customers distributed on 2.6 million households. In several meas-urements, Post Danmark has proved to be fastest and to provide the best letter quality among Euro-pean postal service providers. Approx. 95 per cent of all domestic letters handed in on time for delivery on the following business day are delivered as promised. Impartial quality checks are carried out continuously to monitor that our distribution areas and mail centres always live up to our high quality standards. Post Danmark will continue to be reckoned among the best postal, logistics and transport companies.
Post Danmark is an important business partner for commerce and industry. Light goods, business parcels and facility services are some of the important services that a large number of Danish under-takings use every day. Our customers cover the entire spectrum of Danish undertakings, from the largest well-established conglomerates to small newly established entrepreneurs.

We are approx. 21,000 employees

Post Danmark is one of Denmark's largest enterprises with approx. 21,000 employees working in eight clearly defined business units. Our customers mainly meet Post Danmark via the country's approximately 900 post offices and post shops as well as via our postmen. The overall mechanical sorting of letters and parcels is carried out by a number of sorting centres around the country.

We are preparing for new challenges

Post Danmark owns or is the co-owner of a number of enterprises, including Budstikken Transport A/S (100 per cent), Post Danmark Leasing A/S (100 per cent), DATA SCANNING A/S (100 per cent), Pan Nordic Logistics AB (50 per cent) and e-Boks (33.3 per cent). Since 1 January 2006, Post Danmark is jointly with CVC Capital Partners the co-owner of the Belgian postal service provider, De Post - La Poste, having purchased 50 per cent less one share of the company's capital. With effect from 1 January 2007, Post Danmark has purchased 51 per cent of the shares in Transportgruppen A/S.

In these years, Post Danmark is facing great new challenges. Customers are making greater de-mands on the postal service provided by Post Danmark. Competition has sharpened in the distribu-tion, transport and logistics sectors. Post Danmark's monopoly is only for letters weighing up to and including 50 grams and is expected to be further reduced. The number of letters is falling. Post Dan-mark has taken these years' trends into account in its strategy, which describes the company's mission, vision and values.

Post Danmark's management development

Since 1998, Post Danmark has worked systematically to develop management forms and staff commitment in the company based on the Excellence Model. Intensive efforts are being made to develop quality according to the EFQM standard (European Foundation for Quality Management). As a result of these efforts, Post Danmark received the Danish Quality Award in the spring of 2004. In 2006, Post Danmark was among the finalists in the competition for the EFQM Excellence Award.
