Economy letters within Denmark
 Economy letters are addressed items of mail which meet the weight and size requirements that apply to all letters to Denmark.
Economy letters have a longer carriage time than standard letters and the postage is therefore cheaper.

Posting
Economy letters must not be posted in letterboxes but must instead be taken to the post office or handed to the postman in
rural areas, if the letters are pre-stamped.
Economy letters must be kept separate from other post.
Conveyance time
Economy letters taken to the post office before normal closing time (but no later than 5.30 pm) or given to the postman in
rural areas will generally be received by the addressee within three working days of posting; however, economy letters posted
on a Thursday or Friday will arrive within four working days.
Economy letters to the Faroe Islands, Greenland and international destinations
You can send your letter abroad as an economy letter (B Economique/2nd Class) and thereby save on the postage if it is not
so important that the letter is received by the addressee quickly.

Conveyance time
When your economy letter will be received by the addressee will depend on the country to which you are sending it. The post
office can give you more detailed information on the carriage time to the country in question.
If you are sending economy letters to Denmark’s major trading partners in Europe they will normally arrive within 4-8 working
days.
